Lies

Updated: Jul 16

It is God who arms me with strength, And makes my way perfect.

Psalm 18:32

Do you wake up in the middle of the night consumed with worry? Does your mind race with self-doubt? Are you bullying yourself with irrational thoughts?

I am not good enough.

I cannot do this.

No one will ever love me.

God does not care about me.

I am going to be fired.

I am a failure.

Are you able to recognize God’s truth from the lies? At first these lies may just be whispers. You do not even realize they are there. They get louder, more frequent, and new ones add in every day. That is unless you recognize them, call them out and stop believing them. They are just another way for the enemy to pull you away from God. The enemy loves when you bully yourself and believe these lies. When you believe the lies you live in a state of fear, you react out of fear, and do not believe you are worthy of anything good. The more time you spend thinking about these lies the less time you spend with God. That time slips away, and you no longer are tuned in to His voice and presence to hear His loving truth.

You are Gods priority. He created you for a purpose. He believes in you and loves you. The enemy’s priority is to destroy that relationship. Convince you it does nothing for you. The enemy wants to distract you with worry, lies and negative thoughts. The enemy creates chaos to overwhelm you and throw you off balance. He creates busy so you have no time for your Father.

Is it working? Have you pulled away from God? Have you been worshiping your negative thoughts? Are you living a life full of distractions and self-bullying? Reset. Turn to God. Slow down and root yourself in His presence and love.

God does not give up on you. You can always begin again. Start today. Question the lies filling you with doubt.

I am enough.

I can do this.

I am loved.

I am doing a great job.

God adores me.

God sustains me.

God provides.

I am always victorious with God.

Father God,

Thank you for all that You are? Forgive me for believing the lies about myself and for being a bully to myself. Help me to recognize when I slip into moments of bullying. You have a purpose for me. Help me to separate the lies from truth. May I rely on Your strength when I do not recognize the truth. May I hear Your call. You are always present, always truthful, and always loving.

Amen
