Chaos

Philippians 2:5 In-Context

3 When you do things, do not let selfishness or pride be your guide. Instead, be humble and give more honor to others than to yourselves.

4 Do not be interested only in your own life, but be interested in the lives of others.

5 In your lives you must think and act like Christ Jesus

Are you trying to make order out of chaos?  Things don’t quite make sense and you are trying to find the reason for it all. You can’t quite accept what it is for what you want it to be. To prevent being disappointed you stop wishing. You stop hoping. You stop dreaming and believing things will get better and good things will come.  Maybe you don’t recognize the chaos because it is the norm for you. If you walk out of situations asking yourself “am I crazy” it is time to stop and evaluate the situation. Don’t accept a situation as normal just because this is the way it is always been.  Avoid reluctant acceptance by challenging  yourself to find out if you are the dysfunction in the situation or is the situation the dysfunction.

The enemy wants you in disappear. He wants you to believe you are always the problem. He wants you to be hopeless and without purpose. If you believe things are all bad you lose motivation to try. You accept things as they are and render yourself powerless. You stop adding the positive  energy of love, joy, support and forgiveness to the world. You stop showing up. You stop being you. That is a win for the enemy.

You, even with all your uncertainties, insecurities and fears have so much positive energy to add to the world. God needs you to show up. It is easy to waver. It is easy to be unsure. God understands all that. He doesn’t want you to reluctantly accept all that is going on around you and inside of you. He is here to help you find the strength to fight for love. He needs you to fight for all that is good. He needs you to show up as He would show up, with kindness and understanding. Don’t avoid the chaos. Speak the truth, recognize it, question it and shine light on it.

Prayer

Father God,

Thank You for helping me to recognize the chaos and not surrender to it. Thank You for supportming me during these times. You extend forgivenes, kindess, undertanding and love to all. Forgive me for getting lost in the chaos and retreating into myself. Forgive me for not holding on to hope and continuing to dream of possibilities. May I lean on You as my guide and recognize when I am only thinking of myself. May I turn to You and find ways to be humble. May I not settle in reluctance acceptance but continue to seek ways to be a light in this world.

Amen
