Commit

Because of You

Luke 2:19

But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart.

God works with in you. He seeks you. What is God doing in your life right now? How is He building strength in you? How is He calling you to grow? Do you feel as if you are really being tested and it is taking everything you have to stay the course? The old insecurities and thoughts, you hoped were completely resolved, come flooding in all at once. Trigger after trigger bombards you. What do you do?

Through all the turbulence of life stay committed to your Father. That is your number one priority. Focus on God. Focusing on Him means you commit to His plan without fully understanding. You surrender to it. You accept disappointment because it leads you closer to God’s purpose. You accept tribulation because it is preparing you for something else. Know that resting in Him, leaning on Him and trusting in Him will move you to peace, even in the turmoil. Seek Him and you will find acceptance for where you are at. This is a moment. What you don’t understand, and what you struggle with, place in the temple of your heart where God dwells. Give it to Him. Ponder it with Him. Be grateful with Him.

The enemy wants desperately to divert you. He does not want you to rest with God. He really doesn’t want you to place your deepest fears and disappointments in the temple of your heart. He wants all your fears and disappointments out for all to see. He wants you telling the world how you have been shafted and how everyone is failing you, even God. He doesn’t want you to want what God wants. Have your own agenda. Seek power. Seek recognition. Seek greatness. Don’t stand behind God as part of His army. The enemy wants you solely committed to self, worried about what others think and envious that others have received better opportunities then you. He wants you constantly trying to understand God’s plan.

God asks you to trust Him even when you don’t understand. Commit to Him even when you don’t feel like it is all going your way. Because when you truly trust and commit to God you allow Him to be your anchor. Then you have the strength to carry Him wherever you go. You have the wisdom to ponder things in your heart with Him and not with everyone you meet. You have the will to keep going under the toughest attacks and the bombardment of the enemies lies. You don’t try to be someone you are not. You work with God to be who God has created you to be.

During the storm don’t quit. Proclaim God’s love.

During unfairness do not gossip or complain. Praise God and be thankful for all that is right.

During disappointment don’t feel sorry for yourself. Know God has a great plan and expect this moment to be part of moving you towards great things.

During the enemy’s attacks don’t give in and don’t surrender to the darkness. Turn and face your King. Surrender to the light. Surrender to your Father.

During times of fear don’t turn back to your old ways. Push forward, still afraid, but with faith God has this.

If you can keep your commitment to the Father, your knowledge of God’s love and wait during the hardest attacks, you will be better than fine. You will be moving forward and growing spiritually.

Prayer

Father God,

Thank You for the turbulent times that show me my strength and all to be thankful for. Thank You for moving me towards better than fine. Everything I am is because of You. You are my strength. Anything that radiates out of me is because of You. Forgive me for easily being diverted. Forgive me for placing my energy in looking back to understand, instead of forward, and accepting Your plan. May I seek You in the good times and the hard times. May I stay committed to You and focused on You. You are my anchor. Help me to have the wisdom to know what to ponder in my heart with You and to not ponder with others. Help me to remember to always stand behind You, so I always have You, Your love, and Your sacrifice in view.

In Jesus’ name,

Amen
