2 Corinthians 4:18
So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
What is most beautiful about God saying no, be patient, not yet but later and even yes, is that it indicates He is present in every part of your life. He is here now and always. Intertwined with you. Communicating. Waiting to be heard. Wrapping you in His love. Hoping you will notice. Even when you don’t listen and ignore His guidance He stays. He is constant. Never abandons. He remains devoted to you, to your relationship and your transformation. He remains and continues to work beneath the surface even when you don’t recognize His hand at work.
You grasp for God and you simply need to let Him flow through your life. You try to control God and you simply need to accept what is. You put it all on God instead of being in partnership with Him. You give up instead of push forward with determination. You call on God to visit instead of being aware of His presence. He doesn’t have to come visit. He is already there. You want miraculous transformation with out all the hills and valleys and unfortunately it doesn’t work that way. Spiritual formation happens on rugged terrain. It happens over a lifetime and not in an instance. You are right where you are supposed to be. Whether your spot is right in the middle of a transition, the unknown or a I got this. This is where God has called you to be. Ask God to open your heart, your vision to all possibilities. Ask God to gently guide you to be comfortable in the present, right where you are at and not wishing you were some place else doing something else. Sit in the moment. If it is uncomfortable sit in the discomfort and see what that brings.
God doesn’t change. His is continuous in His work. Steady and reliable no matter what you do. You don’t earn His presence. You don’t do something good and He appears. He is there always. You wake up to His presence. You grow in awareness of His presence through solitude, prayer, determination and faith and acceptance without always understanding. You grow by returning to the Father even in disappointment, even in rage. You grow and accept there is nothing to change about God. His ways are perfect. His plan is perfect. His constant presence and guidance are within you.
What tugs at your peace? What pulls you into a dull ache? What tests your limits? When these things happen do you run to Him or turn somewhere else for guidance and comfort? The enemy wants you to flee and pursue answers anywhere but with God. He doesn’t want you filled with love. He wants you to believe you are alone and need to figure all out on your own. He wants you in constant contact with drama and doubt. Constant contact with God drowns out the enemy’s fear and deception.
God believes in you. His love is amazing. He comforts. He is constant. He is present. Be near His heart. When you struggle be right where you are and be with your Father. God always remains devoted to you. Remain devoted to Him.
Prayer
Father God,
Thank you for your constant presence. Thank you for wrapping me in Your love. Forgive me for seeking ways to be unsatisfied. Forgive me for digging to find things that are wrong and for being impatient in the healing process. I struggle to turn to You first. I struggle to sit in Your presence and give all to you. I’m torn and pulled in other directions. Help me to choose to turn to You and trust that when I hand anything over to You that You begin the healing process. Help me to seek you in the moments I attempt to hold on to pain and replay it over and over. I look for ways I wasn’t enough or am not enough and You gently call me to stop. May I listen, not walk away from Your presence, and understand that I can’t get enough of You.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen
