Everything

Everything

Ephesians 4:6

one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.

God is everything. He is in plain sight and yet you miss Him. You are distracted by all that is not, so you miss all that is. God gives you everything, but you focus on what you lack and what you want. God is everything you need, but you keep looking elsewhere for your needs. God is your Savior, yet you look to be saved by someone else. He loves everyone and everything. His power explodes all around you. He pulls the sun up in the morning, is the push behind a lion’s roar, calms a tyrant sea, drops rain from the sky and keeps the earth turning. His energy drives all that is and should be. His strength sustains mankind.

God’s boundless love surrounds you. What are you giving your attention too? Are you focused on your problems and on what was? God is pulling you forward. Why are you resisting? Shift your attention onto all that He is. See the force that He is and the power that He possesses. Have faith He is using that power for your good.

There are truths, He knows, that you aren’t ready to see or accept. He works in your favor to ensure you are protected and taken care of, even when you don’t understand, and believe things should be different. He loves you enough to not change course and give you what you want, just because you want it. God works for the long term. You are short sighted and want immediate results and relief. He is giving you everything you need right now, for this time. You need to stay in the present and not worry about the future.

The enemy wants to keep you busy worrying about what is to come. He wants to make sure you do not see God as everything. He doesn’t want you to sink into God’s love and strength and rely on it. He manipulates you to believe that your everything is your house, your job, your friends, and even your family. These are important, but they are not the center of all that is holy, God. If the enemy can get you stressed about a dirty house and people not doing what you want at work and home, he keeps you distracted. He pulls your focus away from God and on to yourself. He drives your energy toward trying to be perfect and on fixing everything. These actions take the power right out of God’s hands and put it into your own. Once you have taken it all on, the enemy revs up and gets you stressed out over being stressed out. He convinces you things will never get better.

God doesn’t want you to take all this on. You were not built to balance everything and do everything perfectly. You do not have the power to sustain positive emotions every day of the year. Shift your focus to God. When your problems or the past creep in take a moment to adjust your thinking.

You are not the driving force behind all that is. God is. Release your grip on trying to control everything and rely on Him who is everything. You were built to lean on God. Remind yourself who is everything. Invite God’s energy into your space that is filled with worry and stressful thoughts. Confront the thought that things will never get better. They have gotten better in the past and they will get better again.

God is consistent. Rely on His consistency. God is in plain sight. Seek to see Him. God is Everything! Embrace this.

Prayer

Father,

Thank You for being everything! Thank you for helping me to find balance and learn to rely on you for everything. Forgive me when I take all in my hands and try to fix everyone and everything. Forgive me for doubling down on stress and believing things will never get better. You are consistent. You have always pulled me through the dark moments. Help me to shift my focus from my problems, from the past and on to you. You give me everything I need. You lead me. You love me. You provide for me. May I continue to grow closer to you and recognize the moment I start to drift away and begin to rely solely on myself.

In Jesus' name,

Amen
