Ephesians 4:32
2 Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.
Are you spending countless years and energy fighting with who you are and how you look? Make friends with what you don’t like. Fall in love with what you are fighting against. Until you do you will be in constant battle. Love yourself where you are and love who you are. When you do not you create inner conflict. You create a war with reality. This is a war you will never win.
This does not mean you stay where you are at and never change. This means you love yourself where you are until you know better and can do better. Loving yourself brings healing. Being happy in the moment helps you to move forward. Fighting the pain only causes more pain. It drains your energy.
You become friends with yourself by relying on your Father. Your Father sees you, believes in you, and always supports you. He has brought you into this world to thrive. He did not put you here to be at war with yourself. He adores you right where you are, scared, troubled, and full of doubts about where He is and who He is. You need Him.
The enemy wants you to believe the only way to change and become better is to be at war with yourself. He is constantly trying to get you to rely on yourself and not your Father. He wants you to be hard on you. Push yourself. He convinces you that you cannot be happy until you have achieved the perfect size, have no debt, are in relationship, can run a 5k and so on. The enemy’s goal is to keep you in internal chaos and warfare. The more conflict you are in the better. It keeps you binge eating, watching TV and believing nothing will ever get better. Even worse the conflict keeps you from seeing All God has created for you, in you and all He wants to create with you.
Make peace with your belly, thighs, eye lines or whatever body parts you are unhappy with. Forgive yourself for mistakes. Let go of yesterday. Fall in love with all you are. You were created by the Master of all. God is calling you to love you. Love what He has created. See you, the real you.
Prayer
Father God,
Thank you, Father, for always being present. Thank you for gently reminding me of the love You have for me. When the battle gets tough You call me to rest and seek silence. I do not always listen. Forgive me for seeking other alternatives for peace and avoiding You. Forgive me for forgetting about You. Help me to accept where I am at and who I am in this moment. Guide me in growth and call me to lean on You. May I remember I always need You no matter what mood I am in or what the circumstance is.
Amen
