Jeremiah 29:11
11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future
Your future is unfolding in God’s hands. When you feel the need to figure it all out, fix it and be comforted that is the very time to let it go. You are trying to control something you have no control over. You are trying to, unknowingly, change the story that God has already planned for you. You are inpatient, restless, and perhaps just over it. But do not fear for God knows what He is doing. He knows His story is good. Focus on today and stay out of the future. Focus on all you have now. Take your focus off what you are waiting to receive and instead just give.
What is pulling on your heart? This is your time to heal and grow. God is preparing you. He is building a foundation and shaping you. Change takes time. Listen. What is next? What do you need to work on? How can you help God move you forward so your story can unfold? Push away doubt and replace it with praise. Expect God to be there for you. Give yourself a pep talk. You will cycle. You will move forward and regress. Regression shows you how far you have come and reminds you that you don’t want to stay in the past. Old negative thoughts will bombard your mind and you will need to choose not to believe them. Each time you push them aside they lose their power. Your faith is being transferred from your thoughts to your Father. Before you believed these thoughts without question. You saw your future through these thoughts. They had credence because you gave them that. Now you are learning your faith belongs with God.
The enemy wants you to believe every thought that comes in your head and have faith in those thoughts. It doesn’t matter if those thoughts are good or bad, true or false, he wants you to put faith in your thoughts because they are something that come and go, are not consistent, and may not be reality. When you have faith in your thoughts you are not putting all your faith in God. Remember the enemy’s sole purpose is to keep you from having a relationship with God. He does not want you relying a hundred percent on your Creator.
God asks you to trust Him with everything. Trust Him with your money, your children, your marriage, your friendships, and your future. When you begin to fear your future, remind yourself that your future is always with God and therefor it is always secure. God provides today, tomorrow and always. He provides your needs generously.
Completely open yourself up to God. Give time to Him. Listen to what God is calling you to do to move forward. He finds a way to let you know. You just may not like what He is asking. You may hear it and make rationalizations to get out of doing it. God wants to use You. In order to do that this cannot be a one-sided relationship. You give, and God gives. He talks, and you talk. He listens, and you listen. What is God asking you to do? Is He asking you to sit in silence with Him? Is He asking you to tithe? Is He calling you to fast? Maybe He is asking you to wait patiently and let go. You know what it is. God will wait for you until you decide to move. Move for God. He wants to partner with you.
Prayer
Father God,
I am thankful for today. I am thankful for all You provide. You are building a strong foundation in me, preparing me for each moment, and helping me to grow in faith. You are fighting for me. Thank You for pulling on my heart. Forgive me for not letting go of my idea of my future. Forgive me for still holding on to parts of the past. Help me to do the hard work to move forward. Help me to hear what you are calling me to do and to follow. May I walk with my head held high. May I be able to truly give all to You, each moment, each decision, and each breath. If it is Your will it will be done.
In Jesus' name,
Amen
