Matthew 11:28-30
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.
When you have hit your max, find yourself in tribulation or desperate need, turn to Jesus. Broken and frail search for Him. Try to catch site of Him. Long to feel His presence and feel His comfort. Seek Him, Jesus, a friend to sinners and lover of your soul. He is the glorious One. Sit in His comfort to personally know Him. He is your life breath. You find Him in the stillness and in the quiet.
How can you hear Him if you don’t stop and listen? Get out of your own way. Are you overthinking? When the noise of the world becomes too much, turn it all off. Turn off the TV, music, your phone and find complete silence. Calm your mind. Slow down. Sit in His presence. Sitting in His presence refreshes you, reminds you He is God, and that He has great plans for you.
The enemy doesn’t want you to be in the presence of Jesus. He knows Jesus is approachable. You can relate to Him. Jesus understand what it is like to be human and to reach your limit. He understands the need to retreat to be with your Father. Jesus defies everything the enemy embraces, wretchedness, bitterness and judgement. The enemy doesn’t want you to catch site of Jesus because Jesus is the access point of forgiveness. The enemy wants you to hold on to grudges. He wants you to fester. Fester in self-pity. Fester in disappointment. Fester in pain. The enemy wants you annoyed by everyone and everything around you. He wants you to reach your limit and push past it. The enemy wants you to believe all you have to rely on is you. He wants to emotionally cripple you so you start an emotional war.
Jesus is your redeemer. He wants to restore you and lead you on a path of peace. He is your comforter. Turn to Him. Slow down. Rest in His presence. You will find Him in the silence. Sit and be still. Jesus, part of the Holy Three, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, packs some power that the enemy does not want you to tap into. Seek to catch site of Him. Pursue Him so you can understand that you are always loved and always forgiven. Jesus sets the captives free. He gives a new vision. Yes, the enemy is afraid of Jesus. Why wouldn’t he be. Jesus gave His life for you? No matter what you say or what you do, Jesus always stands with open arms to welcome you home. Let Him be the King of your heart.
Prayer
Jesus,
Thank you for being my comforter. Thank you for being the lover of my soul. You came to earth, fought a battle for me, and won. There is no reason to fear the enemy. He has already been defeated. You stand with the Father and the Holy Spirit and provide all I need. Forgive me when I push past my limit and become annoyed with everything and everyone around me. Forgive me when I fail to listen to Your call to rest and instead I fester. Show me where I fall short of completely relying on you. Help me to focus on the main point of this all, love. Work through me. I love that I can come to you and just sit in silence with you. You restore me. I may be less than perfect but because of you, I am more than flesh and bone.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen
People climb in trees to catch site of You.
