James 1:6
But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind.
God’s power moves through you with prayer and thanksgiving. He works through you when you set your sight on Him and do not question. He moves and gains ground every time you hear His call and answer without hesitation. You are a disciple. This means His work and love must come first above your agenda, your pain, and your fears. When you focus on His light, He builds a core confidence in you that is unshakeable. God is calling you to get up, do His work with faith and without doubt.
There are things God tells you to do. He is clear. You feel it in your gut and yet you still question if you heard Him right. You question because you want a guarantee. You question because it wasn’t what you expected or had planned. Perhaps you are in the middle of a storm and what He is asking you to do is to forgive who brought the storm and all those that contribute to keeping the storm roaring. Your mind can’t comprehend how God could ask you to do such a thing. But God understands. You are at the eye of the storm. He knows that if you step out in love and unshakeable faith miracles will happen. God asks you to do something for a reason. It will bring good. He is clearing a path for you. If He asks you to do it, He will equip you and make it possible for you to do it.
The enemy is working overtime to stop you from being God’s disciple. He knows you are gaining ground and building your faith. When you choose love over fear you block the enemy. The enemy will try to make it all about you. He will place fear in your heart. He will shine a spotlight on all that is wrong and will make others appear to be your opponents. His goal is to keep you in a constant struggle with others. He doesn’t want you to see them as God’s children. He doesn’t want you to look past your own needs and see how God wants to use you. If he can keep you self-absorbed he gains more battle ground. If he can get you to see people as opponents, and not brothers and sisters in Christ, he prevents you from doing God’s work and he prevents you from listening to God’s call. Don’t fight what you hear God say, fight the enemy’s backtalk that is making you question God.
Use prayer and thanksgiving to combat the enemy. Pray for those you struggle with. Ask God to give you wisdom and bring healing. When you pray for someone you allow God’s power to work through you. You may not see immediate results but there are immediate results. The main result is you block the enemy’s advancement. The enemy pushes you to attack like a roaring lion and Christ says approach them like a loving lamb. Christ asks you to surrender the situation to Him. Put a hard stop on negative thinking. It is not always easy. But you must take a stand for you are choosing, in each moment, who and what to worship.
In all you do be thankful. Be thankful for the mundane it gives you time to rest. Be thankful for what God is blessing you with. Be confident He is bringing great things. Be thankful for those you struggle with, they bring you growth. Find a reason to be thankful. You think God is holding back but He is filling you up and building something amazing in you. God is healing you. Trust Him. He is healing others and calling others to grow through you. When you answer His call, you impact others. They get a glimpse of the Holy Spirit. They see your courage and strength in the midst of a storm and wonder where it came from. Stand firm knowing Christ is building great and beautiful things in you. This is more than your storm. This is a Christ revolution.
Listen to God. Seek Him. Choose God.
Prayer
Father God,
Thank you for building a beautiful strong foundation in me. Thank you for Your power that moves through me with prayer and thanksgiving. Forgive me for being self-absorbed and failing to look past my own pain and desires, so I can do Your work. You are an amazing God. Your energy fills every living thing on this earth. May I recognize you in everything. Fill me with compassion and forgiveness for those I struggle with. Help me to hear You, really listen to You, and move. May I not question you or believe my doubts. You will prepare me and sustain me in all You ask me to do. You are the Glorious One, the light of the world. I will keep my focus on You, have faith in You, and have faith!
In Jesus’ name,
Amen
