Isaiah 41:10
Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
There are moments when you feel like you can’t. You hear yourself saying things like
I can’t do this anymore!
I can’t take being disappointed again!
I can’t give any more!
I can’t do anything right!
I can’t believe things haven’t improved yet!
Don’t be discouraged. This is just a moment of not believing in you. You are in a funk. You need to find a way to move past it and not continuously live there. You can find hope, believe in you again and do more once you have refreshed.
The enemy does not want you to refresh. He wants you to keep you off balance and believing you can’t. He knows you are here for a purpose and if you take care of yourself then you will continue to contribute love and peace to the world, impacting everyone around you. Stopping you from being you is his goal. Stopping you means you must believe you are not capable. You can’t! If you believe you can’t than you won’t.
God believes you can. He knows what you are capable of. He built you the way you are. God wants you to take care of you. You matter. You are a part of His plan. He will give you strength.
When you find yourself saying I can’t ask yourself if you are giving too much, doing too much or distracting yourself a whole bunch. I can’t is a sign you are neglecting you. I can’t really means you can’t go any further. You have reached your limit. Study yourself. Find out what comes before I can’t? Is it distraction? What form does that distraction take. It may not always be the same.
Retreat to silence. Take a few things off your plate. Spend time with your Father. Breath and remind yourself what you can do and have done. You’ve got this!
Prayer
Father God,
Thank you for waiting through my "I cant's." Thank you for being patient with me and believing in me. Forgive me for pushing myself beyond stressed to overwhelmed and to the point of I can't. You wait for me to rest. You call me to slow down. You know I can. Help me to find balance and peace. May I be grateful for today and see it as an opportunity to find solutions and not focus on problems. As you work to move mountains may I work to recognize the most subtle movements you are making. May I start each day with practicing faith and hope in you. You are my strength.
Amen
