Psalm 118:24
This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.
The day welcomes you with excitement. Birds are singing. The sun is rising. Your house is full and busy. The day is already moving. Stop. Listen. Enjoy. This day shouldn’t be a burden to you. Don’t start the day with dread. Don’t start the day with lists of all you have to do. Start the day with telling yourself all you get to do. You were blessed with this day. You are blessed with another day to breath, enjoy your children, spend time with your parents, and take a walk. You were blessed with another day to be you! Come at the day from a different angle, blessing it. Accepting it. Smiling at it. Your day may be busy, but you will get through it. face this day like a giant. Face the day knowing you are equipped to get to the end of it with a grateful heart.
God blesses you with this day. You may be struggling, not feeling well or just exhausted. You may feel like you just can’t adult today. God’s got this. He is right beside you. Feel sad if you feel sad. Feel disappointed if you feel disappointed. Feel tired if you are tired. But whatever you do face the day. It is alright to face it tapped out and unsure. But face it. Take it moment by moment, putting one foot in front of the other, knowing God is by your side. This is one day and tomorrow another morning will break, and you can start again.
Start with God. Let Him know how you are doing. I am struggling today God. Need to lean on you more for this one. Not feeling it today. Show me your goodness. Remind me I’m enough.
As you go through the day the enemy is looking for opportunities to connect with you. He is looking for ways to sway you and to get you to blame. He loves to see you blame God, other’s and yourself for a difficult day. He wants you to just not feel it today, spiral into ugliness, and lash out at others. He wants you to feel like you can’t. He wants to hear you say it. The more you say it the more you reinforce that you can’t. God knows you can. You can’t do it is just not true, because you already are doing it. You are living the day. You are moving forward getting done what needs to be done. The question is how are you doing it? Are you in sorrow or joy? Are you living within God’s love or within the enemy’s misery? The enemy likes to help you make lists of all that is wrong. Hearing you complain is music to his ears. When he hears you complain he knows he has you down. God says tap out. Tap out and let Him intervene. When you don’t have it and are not strong enough to face the enemy as a giant, let God step in and put the enemy in his place.
Know God. Live your day with God. Welcome His presence. Be grateful for all you have and all He does. Give the day to God. Recognize how amazing He truly is. Your heart longs for Him. Don’t fill that longing with anything but God’s love.
Prayer
Father God,
Thank you for blessing me with another day. Thank you for my home, my children and my parents. You surround me with comfort and love. Forgive me for not always appreciating all you have blessed me with. Forgive me for asking for more and taking for granted what I have. All things are possible with you. Remind me I can, when I feel like I can’t. Help me to see this day for what it is, a blessing from you. My days will always be filled with things to do but they are also filled with your presence. Help me to focus on Your presence and living within Your love.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen
