Psalm 51:10-12
10 Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. 11 Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me. 12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.
God has given you a new day. This is your day to start new. He has given you a willing spirit. Clear your mind of all negative things that have been said to you, said about you, and even those things that you have said about yourself. Some of these things may have once held some truth, but not today. Today is new and God sees you as you are today. See yourself that way. See yourself as God sees you. Don’t believe or hold on to what has been said before. Tap into your spirit and be excited about all this day has to offer.
Focus on the light within you. That Light is perfect. It is loving and understanding. It is motivated and strong. Center yourself in God’s presence. Don’t judge yourself. Be kind. Seek God’s presence even when you don’t feel it. It isn’t always a feeling. Sometimes it is a decision. It is a surrender to just being where you are at with no expectations. Be aware of how much judgement passes through your head. Start with how you judge others. Judging others starts with avoiding something in yourself. If you are being harsh on others you most likely are being harsh on yourself. If you are being harsh on yourself, you are not centered in Christ. Become aware of this and refocus your attention on your spirit.
The enemy is constantly trying to give you excuses to turn back. He wants you to question yourself. He loves when you fill your head with negative self-talk. He wants you to question God’s timing and get inpatient. His goal is for you to feel like you are not getting enough out of your relationship with God and that it isn’t worth it. He nudges you to not proceed in your faith. The enemy tries to show you it isn’t working. In moments of dullness he bombards you with doubt. He calls you names. He fills your head with ideas of how you do not measure up. “You are selfish. You eat too much. You have no will power. You are disorganized and can’t pull it all together. You are far too uptight.” With each negative thought the enemy pushes you down. He works so hard to get you to forget who you truly are. You must work harder then the enemy to always remember you are more than these thoughts. Question those negative thoughts that come into your head. They just are not true. These things do not define you. What do you cling to? What are you believing about yourself? Get a new vision. This is not who you are.
Seek God's vision of you. God is all knowing, never changing, and always consistent. He knows you inside and out. Spend time with him. Converse with him. God calls you His own. Gently He guides you and reminds you that you are beautiful, strong and full of love. He sees all the times you fall and all the times you get back up. He knows you keep pushing forward and your faith is strong. You may doubt, but you never give up on God. God defines you. You are a child of God. Cling to that. This is a new day, a gift from God. Tomorrow will be another new day. God is constantly giving you chances to start over, keep moving forward, find joy, and appreciate your willing spirit. When you struggle to refocus just mention His name, Jesus. He is the provider and the healer. He is your strength and He will never fail you.
Prayer
Father God,
You are my provider. You are my everything. Thank you for sustaining me. Thank you for giving me a willing spirit that is constantly nudging me to keep faith in You. Thank you for your plan that is building strength and patience in me. Forgive me for those times I focus on the negative thoughts in my head. Forgive me for when I put all my attention on my plan and question yours. You define me and constantly refocus me on the positive. May I remember to reach out to you throughout the day, so I am aware of you. May I always whisper your name, so my attention is drawn away from negativity. This is a new day! I will embrace this day, seek Your light in me, and be thankful for all You are and all You have made me to be. Today I focus on seeing me as You see me.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen
