Matthew 6:9-10
9 “This, then, is how you should pray:
“‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, 10 your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Do you come to God as your Father, and lay your burden down, knowing He will take care of you? Do you come to Him accepting His will to be done? Do you trust His will? In your moments of pain, disillusion and confusion are you able to let go? Or do you panic?
God, all powerful and all knowing has your best interest in mind. He is actively doing what is best for you. You may not understand it, but your Father is good therefore, His plan could only be good. The journey may seem long and you are anxious to see progress. It is hard to be patient. The hard work you are putting in now will pay off. Every time you pick yourself up, and choose to move forward rather than quitting, you get a moment closer to God’s plan unfolding. Know that all could change in a moment, allowing you finally understand what God has in store for you.
.
The enemy wants you to give up and expect pain and suffering. He wants you to expect to be disappointed. He wants you to believe you are a failure. He is whispering to you that your Father will fall short. The enemy wants to see you with your head down, tears rolling down your face, broken hearted and everything in you giving up. He is trying to keep you down. You can’t impact God’s world face down in a pit of sadness. When you are being attacked it is because the enemy recognizes your ability to effect change. He sees the love God has for you and despises it. He sees the love you have for God and wants to destroy it.
You may wipe out. You may want to quit. You may feel like you aren’t getting it right and are wandering aimlessly and not gaining much ground. But progress is being made. God calls you to get up, wipe off your face, and try again. Keep trying again. Keep expecting Your Father to bring healing. Keep expecting Him to bring love and beauty into your life. Keep expecting Him to comfort you.
Through it all you will grow. You will change. You will build your faith. Your Father will work with you. Remember it is Thy name, Thy will and Thy kingdom. He is Holy. Grab a glimpse of Him. Sit with Him and know all is well.
Prayer
Father God,
You are Holy. You are marvelous in all you do. Thank You for the many blessings You give me. Thank You for each moment that brings me closer to Your plan. Forgive me for the times I give up on me and on You. This is a journey of faith. I will seek you in the silence, in the chaos and in the in-between. May Thy will be done. Help me to continue to grow in faith and continue to let go of what you have taken out of my life. Help me to continue to recognize that You have always taken care of me and this will never change.
In Jesus' name,
Amen
