Potter's Clay

8.14.18

Isaiah 49:16

Behold, I have engraved you upon the palms of my hands; your walls are continually before me.

To you whom God has created,

In a moment of inspiration and divine joy a plan was constructed to make possible your existence on this earth. Each thought of you not a whim but a gift molded in the heart of the Potter. He decided the tone of your voice, the shape of your body and the color of you skin. Once He granted these to you they became yours and yours alone.

You love like no other. For you are no other. You are you! You speak, act, rejoice, and yes even fail like no other. Be proud for God set forth a plan and when its end was achieved the result was you. A gift to the world. A miracle to behold. A breath to be taken and a heart to be honored.

You are a new creation like no other. Before placing you in the warmth of your mother’s womb He held you in His arms and whispered the secrets of the heavens. He proclaimed your greatness and marked you as His own. Calling forth the angels He blessed you with a guardian and endowed you with the Holy Spirit. As He placed you in your parents’ care a bit of heaven came to earth.

Your journey of birth was not made by accident, not taken by chance. Your journey, child of God, was a miracle and your life has a purpose. Don’t take for granted your greatness. Don’t overlook that moment that you became a part of the breath of Christ. You are not insignificant. You are not one of many. You are one of one. The one and only.

When you walk by your fellow man don’t frown for what you don’t have or back away out of utter fear. For you were given all you were meant to possess. Take a look closer and see your own gifts. Anything, more or less, wouldn’t be you. So, smile when you come face to face with mankind. Shower the world with the awareness of your beauty and in turn you will appreciate the beauty of the world.

Take a look at yourself and don’t be afraid to gasp, don’t neglect to stare in awe for it was the Master’s hands that created you. Now turn to those around you, family, friends, and strangers, and let their eyes meet yours. Don’t let fear blind you from seeing the fingerprints of the Master on them as well.

No response may seem appropriate. He is a great God. Words cannot express this greatness. It may go unspoken. But it should not go without acknowledgement. Open your eyes to the beauty before you and take in Christ’s breath, blood, and flesh that has befallen on man. You, my friend, are the Potter’s clay. You do not walk alone.

Prayer

Dear Father God,

Thank you for my breath, my life and each new day. You are a wonderful God. You walk with me and give me Your grace. Forgive me for not always seeing the gift you have given me. Forgive me for not always recognizing your work in me and in others. My mind may wander and get distracted but my heart is always yours. Help me to remember you created me as I am for a purpose. I am never forgotten. I am in good hands. I am the Potter's Clay.

In Jesus name,

Amen
