Psalm 24
I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
My soul shall make her boast in the Lord: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad.
When you don’t know what to do stop and praise! Praise God. Praise yourself. Praise your friends and family. Praise those you are having difficulty with.
What does praise look like? It looks like acknowledgement of all that is good. It looks like a refocus onto the glass half full mentality. It looks like acceptance for what is. It looks like enjoying the moment and letting it just be. It means not abandoning Team You, no matter how far you have fallen. Take a lesson from God. God’s grace doesn’t stop when you are in a bad mood or life struggle. It doesn’t wither when your attitude needs adjustment. God’s grace is unconditional kindness and love. It is always present no matter what kind of life event you are in. It isn’t saved for just special moments when you are all in and feel His presence. It is showered on you all the time, no matter who you show up as.
Praise God for another new day full of simple reminders of His love like sun, rain, birds, new babies, and laughing children. Praise God for His ever-present presence. Praise Him for His ability to remind you of who you are. His beauty is everywhere. It is in you! Praise yourself for all you have accomplished today. Instead of focusing on what didn’t get done acknowledge the superhero skills you tapped into to get through the day. You got up, worked, picked up the house, did a load of laundry or two, loaded the dishwasher, unloaded the dishwasher, made dinner, consoled a child or two, replaced the toilet paper roll again, and the list goes on. You juggle a lot in one day. Praise your family and friends for being in your life. They appear when you don’t even know you need them. They love you no matter what. They see you! Praise those you are having difficulty with. They give you perspective. They give you many opportunities to practice grace for others and for yourself. You may fall more times than not, when dealing with difficult people, but you get up and you learn from it. Let it be and praise!
Today is a good day! No matter what you have God’s grace. That is enough, more than enough!
Prayer
Father God,
Thank you for your grace and mercy. Wherever I go you are there. You are there in seasons of joy and seasons of despair. Thank you for reminders of your presence and reminders that there are always reasons to praise. Forgive me for the moments I neglect to praise. Forgive me for when I fail to show up for Team Me! May I praise you not only when all is going well but, in the storms too. Help me to be gentle with those I have difficulty with. You bring good out of every situation. May I focus on Your good. May I bless you at all times and remember at times I just need to let it be. Your grace is enough!
In Jesus name,
Amen
