Psalm 141:5
May the Just One set me straight, may the Kind One correct me, Don't let sin anoint my head. I'm praying hard against their evil ways!
What frequency are you dialed into? Is it God’s? Can you hear Him? What drowns out His voice and switches you off His frequency is, among many things, not being in tune to His word and believing you lack something. It has nothing to do with anything He is doing or not doing. It is all you. God hasn’t stopped being present. He is still there. What is distracting you from noticing and acknowledging His presence?
You can get distracted from God’s presence by one simple thought, I lack. The feeling of lack causes you to seek the approval of others. You look for external proof of your worth. The problem is when you do that you turn away from God, the only one whose approval you need. Seeking approval of others weakens the stronghold you have against the enemy. It allows for the enemy to find a crack and wiggle right in to do real damage. The enemy uses tools like jealousy, doubt and judgement to set you on a course of despair.
Jealousy prevents you from showing up as God intended you to be. It causes you to judge yourself. When you struggle with jealousy you struggle with the belief that someone else is better off than you. Jealousy is the enemy’s way of saying you are not enough. It is the enemy telling you God doesn’t provide enough for you, doesn’t take care of you and does not love you. The enemy knows if he can plant seeds of doubt in your head regarding God’s love, and you start to ponder that doubt, he has a way in. He wants you to give up on yourself and on God. He wants you to question God. Knowing God’s word and turning to His word when those thoughts of doubt come flooding into your mind will prevent the enemy from gaining ground.
“You have to believe that God Knows what He is doing, when He is not doing
what we want Him to do or when we want Him to do it.”
-Tony Evans
When you have a thought of lack ask God to set you straight. Make the shift to think different by practicing gratefulness and forgiveness. Be thankful for all God has already provided you with. Thankfulness opens the door to more blessings. Place those thoughts, that tend to distract you from God, before Him and ask for forgiveness. Forgiveness allows you to recognize the part you play in holding back and not showing up completely as God created you. Forgiving yourself gives you the power to accept who you are, where you are at and what you have. It allows God to heal and conquer.
God wants you to show up. Show up, not as anyone else, but as you! No matter where you are emotionally God is there to help you, to heal you.
You are enough! You have enough!
Prayer
Dear Father God,
You are the just One, kind One, patient One, and all powerful One. Thank You for always being present no matter where I am emotionally. Thank You for tugging on my heart when I wander and for calling me back to You. Forgive me for being jealous of others, doubting your intentions and power, and judging myself and those that cross my path. Gently set me straight. Help me to build strongholds in my mind that prevent the enemy from gaining ground. May I turn to you in my emotional low points and be reminded that healing is in Your hands. You are enough! I have Your approval. Help me to show up as me, the one You adore!
In Jesus name,
Amen
