Surrender

Surrender

1 Peter 5:6-7

Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

Stubbornness gets in the way of wanting God’s will. Because His will may not look like your wants. He is preparing you for what you need, not what you want. He is going to do what is best for you. Focus on praying for God’s will. Don’t let doubt get in the way. Don’t try to figure out how any of it could possibly work. Resist getting in His way. Refuse to let pride and stubbornness prevent miracles. Surrender. Surrender to God. Surrender to His will and His love.

Wake up each morning and surrender. This day is God’s day. Take this day and give it to God. Let His desires unfold. This day will be what it will be. Can you surrender to it? Can you let go and let it be? Can you recognize what you have control over and what is out of your hands? Breath, sit in prayer and surrender. Recognize the beauty in today.

The enemy would like you to focus on all the obstacles of the day. He wants you holding your breath in anticipation of all that could go wrong. He doesn’t want you to recognize all that is good and right. When you focus on the negative you help support his campaign to spread misery. The enemy weighs you down with responsibilities that are not yours to take on. He tells you it is your job to fix everyone and everything. He mutters that you are not good enough unless you can make everyone happy. He places doubt in you about who you are as a person, spouse, friend, and parent. He wants you questioning if you are doing this right. If you surrender all your questioning to God and see yourself as God sees you it shuts the enemy out.

God calls you to surrender. What responsibilities are you taking on that are just not yours? Lay it all out before Him. Turn to Him so He can guide you and let you know what you are responsible for and what you need to let go of. God asks you to be loving and kind to you. He asks you to be present for you. It all starts with you. You cannot give anything more than what you give to yourself first. In each moment and each situation that you choose to surrender to your Father you grow closer to Him and block negativity. You close a door to the enemy and push him out of your mind. You are on a path to a new life, a new way of thinking, and it all starts with surrendering.

Be forever faithful that all will work out. Your top priority today and on any day is to stay intimately close to your Father. It is to run into His presence and not away to the distractions of this world.

Stay faithful and surrender all to Him.

Prayer

Father God,

Thank You for Your loving kindness. Thank You for calling me to surrender and recognize what is not mine to take responsibility for. Forgive me for distracting myself with others, getting in their business and getting fixated on what is not mine to fixate on. Continue to call me to surrender. I surrender this day to you. I place this day in Your hands and thank You for all You choose to give to me today. May I recognize the blessings and accept the call to grow. May I focus on staying close to You. May I be present for today, not yesterday or tomorrow, but simply today.

In Jesus’ name,

Amen
