Victory

Eye of the Storm

Psalm 23

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures; He leadeth me beside the still waters.

3 He restoreth my soul; He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.

4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for Thou art with me; Thy rod and Thy staff, they comfort me.

Agitated much, maybe too much? Can’t find that inner peace? Feeling defeated? Feeling like you are not enough or lovable? Are you focused on everything that you perceive to be wrong with you and in the world? You are in a spiral. You will continue to spiral the more you continue to fixate on everything outside yourself.

Feeling defeated is a clear sign you have lost sight of God. You have dropped the armor of God and believe you can do it on your own. You have forgotten that God gifted you this life to enjoy. You may be in the eye of the storm of self-doubt, but God is calling you out of that. You may feel alone but God is present and fighting for you. He is working behind the scenes, in the depths of your being and calling you to wake up. Make a move and recognize His loving presence.

Stop looking back in the past and questioning if you were loved enough, had enough, did enough, were enough. Stop questioning today. To be clear you are and always have been enough. God has always been with you, loving you and working for you.

God is calling you to dig deep and fall in love with you. See yourself through His heart and His eyes. Stop trying to find love for yourself through others. Stop trying to get approval for who you are from family and friends. Get your approval from the Source of your very being, God.

The enemy’s goal is to defeat you. He wants you defeated. He is coming after you with intensity and determination. Without your armor he will not only knock you down, he will pin you down. He will pin you down under insecurities, lies, feeling sorry for yourself, blame, boredom and sluggishness. You name it, he throws it all at you. He does it continually to wear you down and drown out the beautiful voice of the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit, Gently and lovingly, is calling you to not believe the lies of the enemy. He is telling you to drop your baggage of worry, fear, doubt and focus on Him. He is reminding you that you are not God and therefor can’t rely on yourself for peace. You must tap into the Source and stay connected to the Source to protect your spirit and stay peaceful. You must armor up! Armor up and pull yourself up with God’s word. Read it and believe what He says.

God does not want you to feel defeated. He did not put you on this earth because you are worthless and not enough. He chose to give you life so you could help celebrate all that is good and beautiful. Celebrate! Celebrate the strength God gives you. Celebrate the body God blesses you with. Celebrate each breath you take. You may feel defeated, but you are not defeated. You have what you need to change that mindset from defeat to victory. God is pulling for you, loving you and talking to you. Listen.

Psalm 46:1-3 God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore, we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging.

Isaiah 26:3-4

3 People with their minds set on you, you keep completely whole, Steady on their feet, because they keep at it and don't quit. 4 Depend on God and keep at it because in the Lord God you have a sure thing.

God’s presence gives you victory. Focus on His presence. Focus on His word. The more you focus the more aware you are of Him. What you focus on will expand in your life. In the eye of a storm, in the mundane and even in the midst of celebration be aware of God’s presence. He is always in control. He will anchor you.

Prayer

Dear Father God,

Thank for guiding me toward a mindset of victory. Thank you for always being present. You are there in the eye of the storm, in times of frustration, in mundane moments and in times of celebration. You are a constant presence. Forgive me for failing to always armor up. Forgive me for focusing on feelings of defeated. There is so much to be grateful for and so much more to focus on. Help me to recognize the gift of life, to celebrate your goodness, and to remain focused on You. May I not allow the enemy to pin me down under burdens and lies. You are my Shepherd. Your word releases all strong holds. You are with me. You are in control.

In Jesus’ name,

Amen
