Without Hesitation

Updated: May 27, 2019

First and Only

Luke 5:16

16 But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.

The question is, have you talked to the Father? Have you talked to Him before anyone else? Have you gone to Him first and not complained about it to someone else? Have you asked His advice and not asked someone else’s advice first? Have you sat with Him first instead of sitting and brooding? Train your mind to go to the Father first. Go to Him instead of beating yourself up and questioning yourself.

It is so easy to run to everyone else and expect to feel relief. Then when relief doesn’t come you feel disappointment. You layer on the pain. But if you go to your Father, He works with you to heal whatever it is. He helps you to see good and not focus on difficulties and disappointment. He makes things doable.

You are not a superhero. Stop trying to be one. You are a human hero powered by God. God is your super power. Human heroes recognize the need to show up for themselves. They recognize showing up starts with sitting in silence with God. Make conscious choices to be with your Father. Set aside time each day. Make it a priority. Do not deviate from it. You need this time to refocus, refuel, and recalibrate to God’s settings. When you neglect your physical workout, it doesn’t show right away. But eventually you notice you put on some pounds and are not so toned. Same thing happens when you neglect your spiritual time. At first you don’t notice a difference but eventually the feeling of emptiness becomes so large you wonder what is wrong. The desire to be with the Father is gone. You are unmotivated. Sitting with the Father is the fix. You must make the effort to sit in silence quiet the voices and recalibrate.

The enemy wants you to hesitate in going to the Father. He wants you to turn to anyone and anything but God. He knows God restores and heals. The enemy convinces you that you can do this on your own. Skip a day of prayer, it won’t matter. Avoid silence and distract yourself. Run from pain and sooth yourself by seeking approval from others. Put the responsibility for your happiness in the hands of others. Render yourself powerless. He wants you to believe your thoughts are truth and never can be changed. Don’t question them. Hesitate and eventually crumble.

But, God is gently calling you. He is asking you to be ready to act with out hesitation. Do not hesitate to turn to Him. Do not hesitate to listen to Him. He is communicating with you all day long. He tells you when it is time to leave place and exit a conversation. He calls you to sit with Him. Are you listening? Are you acting on what He asks of you?

Be disciplined when it comes to your prayer time. Discipline is doing something even when you don’t see immediate results or no longer see evident results, but do it anyway because you know it is still good for you. Call on the Father. Sit in His presence. With out hesitation turn to Him, abide in Him and share all with Him.

Prayer

Dear Father God,

Thank You for always being ready to listen. Thank You for guiding me, even when I fail to listen. Forgive me for hesitating and not acting. Forgive me for not turning to You before anyone else. Draw me near. Restore, heal, and continue to call me. May I turn to You and reach for You without hesitation. May this become a daily habit. I will sit with you without expectations, fully aware You are moving me forward, and surrounding me with Your love.

In Jesus' name,

Amen
