Psalm 46:10
He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”
Every day is a blessing. Do you believe that? Remind yourself of this blessing with daily worship. Be Still and remind yourself that He is God. Be still and worship Him. Worship when the sun is shining and worship when the skies are dark. Worship in good times and through the pain. Worship through stagnation and uncertainty. Bring God into every moment of your day. Your day is a celebration. What you do with that day and how you do it is can be in praise to God or condemnation. This day is all good. This day is a gift. Your sadness, your anxiety your frustration is a gift. It is an indicator of where you are in relationship with yourself and in relationship with God. Are you partnering with Him? Or have you turned away from Him? When things get smooth and good you stop spending time with Him. You stop fully relying on God. Most of all you stop sitting in silence with Him. Then you get tapped out.
God made this day for you. Sitting with God daily, in prayer and in silence, is essential. You let one day slip by, and it becomes many. You think one day won’t matter. But one day becomes ten. You don’t see how much the day to day prayer keeps you grounded in Christ. Take that away and you see all that creeps back in. Worry, doubt, fear, shame, insecurity, anger, pity, and resentfulness. Little by little your struggle increases.
Prayer quiets the voices of worry and doubt.
Prayer turns fear to faith and shame to understanding.
Prayer tells your insecurities who you really are, God’s child.
Prayer tells pity you are blessed beyond measure.
Prayer reminds you He is God.
Prayer recognizes the blessing of today!
Prayer doesn’t necessarily take away your struggles, prayer reminds you that you are not alone. You have a Father that adores you, is watching out for you, is sitting with you, and never leaves your side. The Father renews you. He gives you strength. The enemy knows he can’t get the Father to leave you, so he does his best to get you to leave the Father. He wants to make sure you slowly walk away from prayer and forget the power of prayer. He knows that prayer calms the soul, unites your mind, body and spirit in agreement and keeps you in tune to God. Prayer is your superpower. If the enemy can knock that out and convince you it does no good, he begins a slippery slope. He gets you to rely on yourself. Then gets you to question yourself.
God will beckon you to return to Him and sit in silence. You may find ways to dull that call. He will keep calling. You can try to cover it up with many distractions, but your place is to be in daily relationship with your Father, so nothing else will quite satisfy you. He’s calling. You must answer. Sit in silence with Him. The beautiful thing about the Father is you always can return. No matter how many times you walk away and ignore Him, He is always there with open arms, love and understanding. You keep trying to do this on your own... you just can’t. You need Him.
Prayer
Father God,
Thank You Father for every new day. Each day is a blessing. Thank You for quieting the voices of doubt and fear. Your presence brings me strength. You are God. Forgive me for the days I neglect to sit in silence. Forgive me for when those days turn into weeks and I rely totally on myself. I know you are the source off all and there is goodness in each day. May nothing drive us a part. May I return to You always. May I welcome the day in stillness and in praise. Guide me to stay near to You each day. May I turn to praise instead of condemnation. May I return to You daily to be lifted up, have my strength renewed, and know I am never alone. Calm me, wake me up, and help me to worship You throughout the whole day.
In Jesus' name,
Amen
